Giving Him Supremacy

The day is coming when the Lord Jesus Christ will have supremacy, when He will be Lord and when, "At the name of Jesus every knee will bow."   Philippians 2:10  What a glorious day that will be!

I'm thinking of one Lord (supremacy), one personality,  the Jesus Christ and you together, or me. I'm thinking when we speak of Christ occupying the foremost place in our life. Does He? Is He first in your life, home, business, friendship, pleasures?  See Third John 9.

The Lord Jesus Christ alone has the right to occupy every experience in our lives. We are challenged every day of those who would want to try and take first place, but it is not their right to seek or obtain it.  If that happens, it upsets the rightful place of another.  Listen, Satan seeks that supremacy in our lives,  but it is not his right to have it.

The Lord is the only one that has that right because . . . .

He made us. We are created by Him also, also for Him. (Col. 1:16)  He made us so that He might be first place in our hearts and life. (Prov. 16:4, 43:7)

He has redeemed us. It's all legal.  He purchased us with His own blood.  (1 Cor. 6:20)  Because of His infinite sacrifice at Calvary and His resurrection, God has rescued us from sin (darkness) and has brought us into His Kingdom Forever. This comes from acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior and King of kings. He has the right to reign over us.  Amen, Amen.  God has given Him that right.  (Col. 1:15-20)   Here it is.  In likeness (vs. 15), in authority in creation (vs. 16),  in power (vs.17), in the church (vs. 18), in the new creation vs. (18),  in riches (vs. 19) and  in final victory (vs. 20).  He is greater than all.

The Lord may be present, but not pre-eminent. If one is Christian,  He is truly present.  It must be true that is in all things, national, political ,commercially and our Christian Life. "If He is not Lord of all, then He is not Lord at all."

The Lord may be prominent, but not pre-eminent. He may  hold a very large place in our life,  and yet not hold the place in our life. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and show you whether He is truly pre-eminent- or only prominent.  (Psalm 139:23-24)

When the Lord occupies the foremost place in a human life these thing are found to happen, and they must.  There is supreme love to His person.  We love Him more than any other person or thing, more than His service, our loved ones ourselves.....more than these (John21:15).  There is unquestioning obedience to all His commands, unquestioning obedience (John 14:15; John 2:5 and Acts 9:6).

There is complete submission to His will. When the Lord occupies the foremost place in my life, I shall be willing to serve Him in every corner of His choice,  should this be His will, and necessary to die for Him. Indeed, my attitude will be, Yes, Father, for this was Your good pleasure (Matthew 11:26).

The day and hour is here when it will be asked, “Whom do you serve? Are you one of His? Have you denied everything self, pride, and much more? It is not about us, you or me, in building  His church or such.  It about a total giving of our lives and service unto the Lord.   If what you do is about you,  then it is in vain.

Now is the time to lead!
