CAMPER - Camper Information

COST: $80.00 per camper which includes the cost of canteen snacks each day.  No money is needed during camp for snacks! Each camper is allowed to get 2 items a day from the canteen.  Register early!  This camp is open for all children who were enrolled in grades 3rd through 8th during the 2016-2017 school year.  Please note that there will be two separate camps operating side by side at Baptist Hill; one for grades 3rd – 5th, and one for grades 6th – 8th.

REGISTRATION and Deadlines! Every camper attending OPBA’s camps at Baptist Hill must fill out a Camper Registration Form.  Complete the form and return it to the camp promoter at your church with the payment before deadline.  Deadline is June 5.   You may register your camper online at www.ozarkprairieba.com. Deadlines are the same. You must give your payment to the church with which your child is attending.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES: Campers should arrive at Baptist Hill between 8:30 am and 9:30 am on July 7 and should be picked up at 11:00 am on July 10.  If your church is providing transportation, please check with your camp promoter for times.

VISITING CAMP: Please try to allow camper to stay at camp all 3 days by arranging your schedule around camp dates.  If you must pick up your child at camp early, or at any time during camp, you must check the child out in the camp director’s office.  If you choose to make arrangements for another adult to sign your child out make sure you list them in the designated area on the registration form.  Remember that no child will be signed out during chapel time.  Worship/Chapel times vary for campers: Middle School Camp’s time is 4:30 – 6:00 pm and Children’s Camp’s time is 7:00 - 8:00 pm.  Make arrangements to get them before or after this time please. 

CLOTHING:  Baptist Hill is a Christian campground that maintains high standards of conduct.  Campers shall dress respectable and modestly.  Please mark all belongings with the child’s first and last name or initials.

Campers shall NOT wear:  shirts with side cut out, spaghetti straps, transparent clothing, or apparel that exposes any part of the torso below the shoulders; any apparel displaying pictures, trademarks, or advertising of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, controlled substances,  or messages with non-Christian themes; tight-fitting or brief-type swim trunks for guys.  Campers should not bring or wear any shoes with wheels.  

SHOES: All sandals should have securing straps across the front and back of feet.  Flip-flops will only be allowed going to and from the pool. All shorts, skirts, and dresses should be modest in length. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times outside the cabins, except while in the pool. Going to and from the pool, campers must wear covers over their swimsuits. Females must wear dark colored T-shirts over two-piece swimsuits or cut-out swimsuits while swimming.  Remind your 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, to bring shoes to wear while canoeing.

BRING: Bible, bedding, pillows, refillable sports/water bottles, towels, washcloths, personal care items (toothbrushes, hairbrushes, hair care, soap, etc), enough proper clothing for the 4 days of camp and extra shoes for water events!

DON’T BRING: Cell phones, laptop computers, mp3 players, portable DVD/media players, electronic devices of any sort, hand-held video games, fireworks, or food. 

MEDICATIONS: All medications for campers must be kept in the camp nurse’s office!  A nurse will supervise the dispensing of those medications.  This is a safety measure and will also insure that your child takes their medication when needed.  Please CAREFULLY LABEL all medicine (including over-the-counter meds) with your child’s name along with dosage information. This can be given to nurse at registration on 1st day of camp.

TELEPHONE CALLS: EMERGENCY CALLS may be made if permitted by the Camp Directors.  If your camper is injured or sick, the camp director will call you.  Please don’t allow your child to bring a cell phone or send one with them; they’re only away a few days.

CAMP RULES:  All campers must abide by camp rules (written and spoken).  Please make sure your child is aware of Camp Guidelines before coming to camp. A list of Camp Guidelines is on the back side of this sheet for you to review with your camper.  Failure to abide by the rules could result in your child being sent home from camp early.

Gift Shop Purchases: If you choose to send money with your camper for gift shop purchases, please place the money inside a sealed envelope with his or her name on it. It will be given to the Camp Director to hold until the campers are given time to go to the Gift Shop on the last day.
